The event opened with a live guzheng performance, setting a graceful and tranquil tone for the gathering. The gentle melodies filled the museum space, creating a moment of calm and anticipation before the exploration of Song Dynasty fragrance culture began.

Dr. Chen Yiwei introduced the cultural background of Song Dynasty incense traditions, guiding participants through the aesthetics, rituals, and deeper meanings behind incense seal craftsmanship. Through her presentation, participants gained insight into how incense was integrated into the artistic and spiritual life of the Song Dynasty.

To further illustrate the craft, a video demonstration of incense seal making was presented during the session. Dr. Chen explained each stage of the process, highlighting key techniques and details, allowing participants to better understand the craftsmanship behind creating an incense seal.

Following the cultural presentation, participants entered the hands-on workshop, where they experienced the traditional process of incense seal making under the guidance of Dr. Chen Yiwei and the assisting instructors.

Throughout the workshop, instructors provided hands-on support and answered questions, helping participants create their own refined incense seal works. Intermittent guzheng performances continued during the activity, adding a sense of serenity and elegance to the creative process.

Traditional culture comes alive when it is experienced rather than simply observed. Through scholarly interpretation, live music and hands-on craftsmanship, Incense Seal Gathering offered participants an opportunity to reconnect with the elegance of Song Dynasty fragrance culture in a contemporary museum setting.
